Ryan ChristoffDavid Kohler says "I dont know of any other collection in the world that has the depth and variety of what Gary has," so it must be true. After all, David was a founding board member with the Sports Collectibles Association International (SCAI), which promoted ethics in the sports collectibles industry.
To be clear, I have heard nothing but good things about Gary and his museum, but it is curious to me that he would have someone like David Kohler bid for him on the 1938 Ruth uniform. I know many bidders prefer to remain anonymous, but he certainly hasn't remained anonymous with several articles quoting Kohler as bidding on behalf of a "client." The LA Times article mentions the Ruth uniform in the museum, so it's not rocket science to figure out who the "client" was. Why would someone with a good reputation like Mr. Cypres want to be publicly linked with someone with a "different" reputation like Dave Kohler?
