People are free to have any religious beliefs they want. But we do not legislate religious beliefs in a democracy. The ten commandments are not laws of the state. If someone wants to commit adultery or worship "false gods", they don't go to jail for that. Why arbitrarily pick one outdated Judeao-Christian law and try to make it the law of the state? Why not criminalize not observing the sabbath? That also comes from Leviticus.
