I'm just relieved. Not as elated or happy as I thought I'd be - just simply relieved. The fact that the vote went so overwhelmingly Obama is ... overwhelming.

It was too bad McCain ran such a poor campaign. I've always regarded him very highly, but it seemed like he was so erratic - going for the gimic plays all the time instead of patiently grinding out yards with a consistent message.

I think Dave hit it right on the head. Bush was so damn bad I don't think there was anyone at all that was going to win this race as a Republican. Maybe that's why McCain seemed so desperate. Too bad his time came in the wake of such a Republican disaster.

And McCain's concession speech was such a good start for an Obama administration. How classy. Where was this guy on the campaign trail? Wow. But it truly gave a sense of optimism and relief, and I have to believe that Obama was extremely grateful for McCain's grace at that moment.
