I have no problem buying a nice looking tough pre-war card in an SGC Authentic holder. If I can upgrade it later, great, if not, I like it better than an SGC 10 (or raw card) which looks like it passed through the alimentary canal of a camel.
I predicted about a year ago that sometime in the future authentic graded cards which appear exmt are going to start passing up the 10s and 20s in value. I still believe that...
