If the card is lost or damaged, your statement as to its value will go a long way towards an insurer or judge or jury deciding what you are to be awarded. For the small incremental cost at issue in most of these cases, IMO it is better to state what it is worth than to lowball it. The one time you do that really severely, sure as heck the card is going to get lost or damaged.
