James GalloB.C. said it perfectly, I know there are several if not many people in the hall that had bet on the game.
The problem I have with the Black Sox is that if Landis did not want to make an example out of them would things have been different. I think so very much.
When you make an example out of a person you can't go back on it not matter what. I think weaver get the crap end of this stick. I never got the whole well he knew about it crap, so did the whole White Sox team long before the series was over and there are a few of those guys in the hall.
I love Jackson I would not be upset if he got in the hall. I would like to see him get in the hall, yet I do not believe that he is totally innocent either.
As for Rose, I think he should be in the hall based on what he did as a player. Managers get in for managing and not playing and certain other criteria are bent for many other players.
I think Rose also hurt his case by the years of BS.
I think the most telling sign will be how the hall handles the steroid era. If someone like bonds gets in with the argument that he was a HOF before the juice then that would open the door to all IMO as Jackson is a HOF before the scandle. If Jackson had continued to play I think his numbers would have grown a get deal.
I know this has been talked about a ton and there are always those against both Jackson and Rose, those in the middle and those for.
The future will tell a lot.
