Steve DawsonBack in 1979, my mother bought me a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #53. It was in low-grade, with several creases, rounded corners and dirty edges. The card was among many cards I sold in 1991 right after I returned to the states after 2 years stationed in Germany and needed money to buy a car and furnish an apartment.
In 2003, my mother died, and I inherited some money from her estate. Then one day while surfing ebay, I found the same exact 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth #53 (in a PSA 1 holder) that my mother had bought me in 1979
Anyway, I was the high bidder (of course), and still have it. It cost me 10 times what she paid for it 24 years earlier. I can guarantee you, that card is going to my grave with me!
