Hey I put the registration number in on PSA web site and the card is legit.


Keep in mind you can't rely on that alone, since they will often have matching serial numbers. Although it is just a small security net this works with PSA and GAI. Fake SGC flips can use just about any number since it can't be checked online.

You will need to look at and become familiar with other variables such as fonts (key), alignment, spacing, font shades and the barcode to name a very few.

Just for kicks I posted a couple home-made flips a few months ago and nobody noticed. Don't remember the thread but one was put in upsidedown in a cracked slab. I believe it was a Gil Hodges flip.

This is why it was mentioned that this may quickly become the scam of the future and we (and the grading companies) should prepare and learn as much as we can now. This does not apply to organized professional forgeries but for the individual scammers.
