Brian, I havent noticed any problems. It rains alot in short spurts but its also sunny and hot every day too and it drys out very easily because of the cinder/lava flows on this side of the island (soil is mostly cinder and doesnt hold water). Its not that humid compared to other place in Hawaii Ive been, nice breeze keeps thing dry too.
