The album pages are card stock like the regular cards, while a poster would presumably be paper.

There are Allen & Ginter baseball card ad posters and you'll see Buchner Gold Coin handcut/blank back cards that were cut from posters.

I've never heard of a faked or forged Allen & Ginter album or poster cut out card. If someone's going to forge an Allen & Ginter it's going to be the regular card as they're worth multiples more.
