This is absolutely devastating news. Max was one of my all-time favorite people. Such a good man. Such a good father. If I can be half the man he was and half the father to my son that he was to his, I will consider my life successful.

This almost makes me not even want to bother going to the National this year.

Max literally made me cry at last year's National by saying some of the nicest and most meaningful things anyone has ever said to me.

ANYTHING you need, Zach, I'm here.
