JoannOften the audience for product like this is bidders that may think they can win it as a reprint and then later pass it off as real. That's why a seller will say something like 'doesn't say reprint anywhere on it' or whatever - it's an aside to those that might try to age it and sell it. Obviously, for Wagner a buyer like this would be very unfamiliar with the hobby but might think he has a shot.
A few years ago, an eagle-eyed poster uncovered one of these bidders on a fake Wagner that had spent a bit of money on it. Same bidder had also recently won a Heine Wagner in a slab that was mislabeled Honus Wagner. hahaha. 2 + 2 = 4. I don't remember who discovered it, but I thought it was pretty funny.
