To me, starting an email with "hey dude" seems like a minor offense at best. They're a sports memorabilia company, not a funeral home. Would I start a business letter that way? No, though I was raised in Wisconsin.

I remember when a Wisconsinite friend visited down south for the first time. A women speaking directly to him said "Y'all." He looked around around to see who she was talking to. So, "Hey dude" isn't necessarily the most disconcerting thing you can say to a Northerner.
