Jason LThat's one reason they cap it at $500 for corssovers, I believe, becuase they want to limit the number of possible instances where they think a $5,000 card will crossover at a minimum grade, then crack the card out, only to then discover an alteration that they couldn't detect while the card was incased.
Because once they crack the card out, they are essentially altering your asset, and could then be liable for the property if they aren't willing to restore the value with a numerical grade.
That is how I understand it, anyway. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
This is why I don't collect any card worth more than $500.
...-that and the restrictive size of my wallet.
