Anyone remember how Mickey Mantle played his first time up in the bigs before being sent down? It takes a while.
The other thing on Santana which isn't being recognized is that the Twins offered Santana the same money the Mets did for 4 years, they just didn't want to go beyound 4 years. It's not like they offered him a couple of cases of Pepsi and a bag of free balls.
