Erik, I believe that there are 36 stamps in the set with named players. Another group of about 7 stamps that depict baseball equipment (ball, bat, glove, etc.) were also issued as part of the set. I believe that explains the difference in the checklist totals. If you find differently, please let me know.

I hope to update the Old Cardboard website in the near future to add a checklist for the German Baseball Stamps and to note the existance of the non-player stamps. If anyone can supply the team labels for all 36 players in the set, please let me know and I will also add those notations to the checklist.
