Default Should "Over 300 Subjects" be Listed on the Flip of M116s?

Posted By: Tim Newcomb

The "300 Backs" grading label really only makes sense in the case of those cards which are more often found with other backs. Zimmerman and the others from series 19-24 appear only with this back, so why should it be listed as a special feature? There are two different backs that all other M116s appear with-- if you list the 300 Subj, you should list them all. But there's really no reason to.

However, with the low-numbered series cards that were reissued later with the 300 Subj back, the companies should definitely indicate this back, and it really should command a significant premium as they are quite scarce.

I would say that in general the scarcer 300 Subject cards in Series 19-24 do go for 50% more than lower-series commons, but it varies a lot depending on which set builders need those particular 300 Subj cards.
