Ed McCollumI work with a woman whose father played and managed minor league baseball his whole life. He passed away about two years ago, and she is now going through all the stuff he accumulated over his career. One of the things she came back with this weekend is a photo from the San Leandro CA winter league in 1947, which shows her father (Frank Benites; seventh from left; back row) among the entire team. One of his team mates is Billy Martin (seventh from left; front row), who was working his way up through the Yankee organization at the time.
Would anyone be able to help identify any of the other players in the photo? Her father had only marked Martin and the manager (simply as Mongo) and she would love to know the names of some of the others in the shot. Any help is greatly appreciated.
