You guys are probably right, since I'm pretty much a beginning vintage collector, it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to buy card/cards for another beginner. Getting a book on vintage cards would be more appropriate.

This year's SCD would probably be overkill for a beginner, maybe Crazy '08 would get him interested in collecting?
