In 1889 a news weekly called "The Stage" printed a series of "supplements" in their regular weekly issue. A total of fourteen players were printed as part of the series in 9 x 12-inch format. The Keefe below is an example.



Although The Stage was primarily a publication for theater fans, they occasional ran sports-related pieces. We have an article on the fourteen-supplement set in queue for publication in Old Cardboard magazine sometime in 2008.
