Default O/T: Last day of Season

since the parking lot attendant bought them always get guys who are not quite A list. They won't spend for a big bat and won't spend for established veterans who are at their peaks. They insist on structured contracts that defer large amounts of money, which A list guys won't take. They end up with guys like Kent (just over the hill when he signed) or Drew or Garciaparra (injury prone). It puts butts in the seats and makes money for the team but doesn't really compete. Just watch, when the young players "mature" (i.e., get to arbitration and free agency age), they will all walk.
