As great as Rollins' numbers are this season....what they don't tell us is that once he reaches 1st base, there is a very high probability
that it is an automatic RUN. Take today for example, he hit a single.....immediately stole 2nd base....next he stole 3rd base.....then he
scored without the benefit of a hit. In this case it was a sacrifice fly to the outfield. At other instances, he has scored on a slowly exe-
cuted OUT play, or one of his teammates bunting him home, etc., etc.
He is one of the best lead-off hitters that I have ever seen; and, I have seen many since the late 1940's.
