Default 1st Round All Around Sweep?

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis

We must of been posting simultaneously....I didn't see your post. Anyhow, you are somewhat correct.

1st....I blame Steinbrenner for the BAD pitching decisions....because he has done this in the past. There is no doubt in my mind
that Pettitte should have pitched the 1st game in Cleveland. He has one of the best October pitching records (in recent years).
And, to further reinforce this contention is that, although Wang did have a pretty good record, most of his wins were at Yankee
Stadium.

And 2nd....I don't understand why Torre didn't have these guys stealing 2nd, I'm not aware that Shoppach possessed a rifle arm ?
It certainly would have distracted the Clev. pitchers and avoided all those DP's that the Yankees hit into.

But, in October the pitching is the foremost issue and how you schedule your moundsmen is very critical....especially if you do not
have a formidable staff (which the Yankees did not this season).
