Default Show Us Your High Grade N172 Old Judges

Posted By: barrysloate

All the examples offered are terrific, which brings up an interesting question: what causes Old Judges, among other photographic issues, to fade? Exposure to light doesn't make sense, as the majority of survivors were kept in scrapbooks or cigar boxes and never saw much light at all. So were they light coming off the press, due to an overused negative?

The same could be asked about pink Old Judges, which typically have poor images. What caused so many of them to have this flaw? Perhaps poor reaction to chemicals used during developement? Jay Miller once suggested the pinks were done deliberately, as an experiment, but I just don't know.
