Default Patterns in the T209 II Set

Posted By: Zach Rice

Seth-

I believe the general consensus on the T209 set’s images is what you mentioned above. Each team’s images for the set were shot in the same place at the same time. As a result of this, each team set of cards looks very similar. All of the Winston Salem cards are studio portraits, as are the Greenville cards and Greensboro cards. On the other hand, players on the Richmond team and Anderson team are shown in fully body shots on their actual playing field (or at least right next to it in the grass).

The one anomaly to all of this (to the best of my knowledge) is the Raleigh team and their images. To my knowledge, this is the only team in the set where the photos for the cards were not taken at one certain time and place. In fact, I believe the images were taken in at least three locations (one location being outside in front of what looks like stadium bleachers, one in a studio with a backdrop that makes them appear to be playing in the street and another in a studio where the players are posed in front of a completely gray background).

Please note that the Hobbs card does not belong to me.
