I have found that the cards hardest to locate are the first card of O'Hara, the last card of Curtis and the card of Dummy Taylor.
Larry said that he thought the price paid for that set was extremely high, but when considering that one is able to obtain almost the entire set in one fell swoop, perhaps not.
If you think that was a crazy price, a private deal for an entire set of colored silks in NM was recently completed for $100,000, as well as a set of PX7 in NM for $20,000 and neither set had been graded. There is a lot of private wheeling and dealing going on behind the scenes right now and auction houses have no involvement whatsoever.
