Frank WakefieldNice topic, Leon.
I feel that for folks interested in the history of the game, minor league cards are not taken sufficiently seriously. I'm not disagreeing with the idea that old minor league cards might be overpriced. I don't think they are overpriced. But I see why some folks think that.
I like T210 Old Mills. I've been selling a few to build up a war chest to go after 2 I lack in series 6, Angermeier fielding and Whitaker. And the Stengel card is about my favorite minor league card, but that one's already posted up there...
So I dug past some PCL cookie, bread, and gas cards, past the potato chip cards, set aside the Centennial Flour card, and those bottle hanging Tulsa Oiler cards, Obaks and ZeeNuts, then I eventually got to these 2.
Harvey Story, PCL card #15 in Bowman's 36 card PCL issue. Harvey never made it to the major leagues...
And next to him is a guy that did make it to the majors, threw a no hitter up there, and made it to the Hall of Fame. Gaylord Perry. This is his 1961 Union Oil Tacoma Giants card.
