Jeff D.Well they are genuine cards. If the condition looks ok, and you don't mind paying a premium (or those bidding undervalue the actual card inside), it's certainly a way to get a t206 you need. It's just flimsy plastic that surrounds it on the front and back, so it shouldn't be too hard to get it out with a razor blade or scissors.
It's obviously not what Topps had in mind when they made the cards, but it probably wouldn't be the first time someone was to do that.
I actually haven't been watching the sales of those buybacks in a while, so maybe the prices have cooled down some and you can get a bargain. Topps collectors can be pretty ravenous, though.
