Ed you just beat me to it. I was going to say that Eric hit it dead on upthread when he said the person probably printed the REA image and laid it down flat for a photograph. The black background from REA shows up in the image, but only to the borders of the holders. A lot of people use black backgrounds to scan, but it have it that way as a photo without cutting it out of a scan would be just about impossible.
