davidcyclebackI just finished a downloadable non sport/collecting book, called 'Understanding Visual Illusions.' It covers the basics of how visual illusions 'work'-- mirages, Escher, illusion of depth in art, misperceptions in your daily life that are not even aware happen. It covers the physiology, psychology, philosophy and optics, but is intended to be understandable by even beginners to the subject. It is also well illustrated with many examples, from horror movies stills to the changeup pitch.
