I live in Seattle and would would attend informal dinners or collector meetings in Seattle, and think it's a good idea. Bi-weekly or weekly is fine. If out of towners attend less frequently that is fine. For an informal get together you only need a few people anyway-- 15 people talking at once isn't necessarily a good thing.
