JimBIt seems to me there are three types of information in Mastro descriptions: the puffery, the historical info, and the condition info. Obviously the latter two are the most important, but the first has never really bothered me so much. Sometimes I even find it amusing, though it is not what guides my bidding decisions. REA tends to focus on the historical info (and condition) and I generally find their catalogs to be more informative. I have not compared, but it seems like there used to be more of the historical information in your catalogs than there has been in recent years.
