Fred CThe sad part about card shop owners that deal (mostly) in shiney stuff is that they usually have NO clue about older/vintage cards. Telling them that a card is fake usually makes them unhappy. I'd take a different approach. I'd tell the shop owner that it might be in their best interest to have the cards authenticated so that they aren't SUED later on for selling high dollar fakes, unless of course they do the right thing and refund the money (which they hate to do).
The sad part about this is that we keep telling people to have the cards graded or authenticated. I've been told that a lot of the graders have NO clue what they're looking at. In the case of high dollar cards I'm sure the trained grading monkeys give it to the chief gorilla that has a little bit of knowledge on the subject.
Let me see, the shop owner only has a few vintage cards and they're both high dollar items... hmmm... I'm not sure if it'd be time to bust open the piggy bank yet unless I have a guarantee, in writing, that says the owner will REFUND the money (all of it) if the cards are found to be reprints.
