I chuckle when you say you find yourself agreeing with everything Joann says-- because I feel exactly the same way. She is the voice of wisdom and good sense on every subject. So take heed on this thread too-- she put things really well, and I won't repeat all of it--

But I too think this one goes a little too far in restricting content. The difference between a flashing banner ad and an embedded link in a single message is profound, and should be enough for your advertisers.

Bobby's posts constitute a gray area that you can deal with in your own way. (He should become an official banner advertiser, probably.)

I do dislike the idea that a person couldn't post a link that recommends a favorite hobby site -- as long as he or she has no monetary connection with it. If that is not what the policy implies, then maybe you could clarify it for us--
