In most cases there is no way to stop something like this because it is random, irrational, and we can not police every square inch of this country. It can happen anywhere at any time. But this incident is a little different.

After the first two students were killed, the university should have been shut down. Because two hours later the gunman was able to continue his bloody rampage, the school clearly made some tragic mistakes.

In the coming weeks we are going to see a lot of finger pointing, and ultimately this may turn into one of the biggest lawsuits in American history.
