robI know nothing about these cards and have simply read this post because it is interesting and quite frankly I usually value what Barry has to say. But the facts seem perfectly clear to me. Why is everyone wondering whether the auction house knew of the problem or purposely misled people, they clearly stated in their addendum..."Upon new information we believe that the card is two distinct pieces". Thus they did not know until they received new information. Therefore, I surmise the consignor did not tell them the card was made from two different pieces, let alone a piece from another card. If the house did know, however, they would be openly lying in their description and that would be bad.
