In fairness to Rich, Hal publicly stated that he was liquidating his collection, so I think it was prudent of Rich to make that comment.

As for the question, I think once you're bitten by the collecting bug you remain a collector even without a collection. And does any true collector not keep at least one card if they sell off their collection?
