Was it ever proven he bet on Red games in his playing days? In his PRIME playing days? Did all this 'evidence' come out only during his latter years as a manager?
These are important questions since he would be going to the Hall based on his playing career, not his time in the dugout..
I know it wont change anything, betting is still what it is. But at this point can any distinctions be made?
