Default Aging your reprint T206 Wagner's

Posted By: Corey R. Shanus

In the mid-80's I was shown a Wagner that had its entire orange background cut out. What remained was the Wagner portrait (with no background) and the bottom border with the name and team designation. The card owner told me he expected to sell that card for about 1/3rd the price he expected to receive for his poor condition Wagner (i.e., a PSA 1). I never followed up with him to ask if in fact he sold that diecut card and at what price, but that is what his expressed expectation was. Needless to say, this being over 20 years later, I have no clue if this 1/3rd ratio would hold (or if in fact it even held then), but that is the only example I can think of.
