I'm a stat geek as well. I've generally got several stat books by the john for casual reading at home and at work.
I read the Baseball Register about 100 times cover to cover, looking for unusual stats, as in who has an OBP higher than their slugging percentage, or who hit more triples than doubles last year, or who had the worst winning percentage last year.
Having said that, I hardly ever watch baseball on TV, or listen to it on the radio. I go to 1 or 2 games a year maximum.
So I don't know what kind of fan I am.
