Is it just me, or do others feel that non-dealers and casual sumbitters get screwed on low-quantity submissions?

I've recently received several decent-to-nice cards back from PSA and GAI with horrid grades. Some of the newer cards (straight from packs) were graded 6's and 7's and a Croft's Cocoa I submitted received an "Auth," whilst I have purchased several like-examples from dealers with much higher grades.

Thoughts?
