Nobody seems to like it; however, if you are a bidder who prefers anonymity, it does offer that. But there seems to be more negatives for sure.

And I agree with Steve that if someone is intent on shilling, he can do it either way. Nobody knows the ebay handle of every bidder, and just because a stranger bids doesn't mean something bad is going on. I know shilling takes place but I think there is a bit of paranoia about it going on- and I know I will get plenty of detractors, but that is just my feeling.

Just place your high bid and forget about it- either you win the lot or you don't. There is nothing more you can do.
