Al C.risafulliThe high numbers from this set are VERY tough in any grade, and if you can get them at $30 each, get them. I got to 40% on this set (among the most beautiful prewar cards, IMO) and only had one high #. Eventually I sold off most of the cards, but really regret doing so because it's such a beautiful set.
The low numbers are also a challenge.
Lopez may be a third-tier HOFer, but the scarcity of the high # card makes this a pretty tough one.
As others have said, mid-series commons can be had pretty cheap. But if you're interested in building a beautiful prewar set, the lack of a Ruth and Gehrig makes this set a very affordable option, even in mid and higher grades.
