I love Joy Division, too, but I hardly think they qualify as punk -- they were the beginning of New Wave, even if they were inspired by seeing the Sex Pistols live. And New Order absolutely rule...

If you like Joy Division, you should know that Anton Corbijn (DM and U2 photographer) is putting the finishing touches on his movie "Control" about the life/death of Ian Curtis. And, of course, there's 24 Hour Party people, which is also a must see movie about JD.
