It was 1977 and it had been 15 years since the Yankees were World Champions. But, on Oct 18th, they
finally became Champs again in one of the most dramatic hitting performances in my lifetime.

Dodgers ahead in the 4th (3-2), with Munson on 1st, Reggie hit Burt Hooton's 1st pitch into the RF stands.

In the 5th inn. withe Randolph on 1st, Reggie drove the 1st pitch off Elias Sosa over the Rt-Centerfield wall.

In the 8th, knuckleballer Charlie Hough came in for the Dodgers, Reggie for the 3rd successive time drove
the 1st pitch into straight dead center and it sailed into the bleachers.

The only other player to hit 3 HR's in a World Series game was Babe Ruth.....and, I believe he did it twice.
