Default Collecting Photos for Possible Book

Posted By: Jeff O

Jason - David is correct about Arcadia. They love to publish regional sports books, and I think you'd be surprised how many copies they could sell.

Arcadia published my book, Hockey in Seattle, a few years back. They typically do print runs of around 2,000 copies, and to date they have sold about 1,000 copies of my book.

The great thing about Arcadia is that they leave a lot of the layout up to you, and the only "costs" you are responsible for are any licensing/rights fees that need to be paid for use of the photos in the book. You'd need about 180-220 pictures to do a book with Arcadia, and most of the text is in the form of long (100 to 300 word) photo captions. You can also expect to earn about $1 per book sold in royalties.
