Ted ZanidakisI'm really surprised that you never ate at Rusty's. For several years he had 2 restaurants in NYC.
His original place was at 73rd St and 3rd Ave; and, he also had a place near the Theatre district.
His upper Eastside place had "tons" of atmosphere and a certain ambience that was lacking in the
midtown place. Nevertheless, at either place, his Baby Back Ribs were the thin-boned, meaty
type that melted in your mouth. And, he would serve up a rack-n-half on a large oval platter.
The barbeque sauce was his secret Texas receipe. I have fond memories of eating at the 73rd St.
place with my wife and two daughters and Rusty sitting down with us. I tried to talk BB with him,
but he was more interested in talking with my wife and teenage daughters..... real ladies guy.
