Joe D.the astoria card actually came after I started collecting the T200s, and the astoria card (as well as other team postcards) probably caught my eye because I was collecting T200s.
I started on the T200s after seeing one in person at a local card show. It was the Brooklyn Nationals. Before seeing the card in person - I didn't realize that the T200s are actual photographs. Not printing press renditions of a photo, but beautiful glossy photographs around 100 years old. I purchased the Brooklyn Natl and brought it home.
I then looked into the other cards in the set... and with names like Joe Jackson, Honus Wagner, Matty, Walter Johnson, Cobby, etc - I knew I wanted to go for the entire set.
For me, there is nothing like an actual photo. Team-cards or team photos are right up my alley... so I was happy to stumble upon the T200 fatimas.
