fkwI also have a couple of the W573 strips, I have the Groh-Sheely and also a Schultz-Gowdy. A few years back I also had one that had the Alexander on it. I have owned 4-5 of them over the years and at least 2 were obtained rolled up.
I dont think the strips were sold to kids this way. I have always thought the strips (cards) came out of a machine of some type one at a time and torn off. Thats why so many of the W501, W573, W575-1 cards are found with slightly angled rough cut top and bottom borders.
The 2 W573 strips I own are framed together and were part of the Barry Halper auction.
