To start and even to continue bidding could be placed via email. If Leon and other reputable
Net54ites are running the show, we'd know there would be no funny business. And there's no reason
bidders can't place their real bids right away instead of the sniper games. There could be
email updates, with bidders conveniently able to bid by responding to the update.

This way you could start with a couple of small auctions before you get into the auction
software stuff. If an auction is small, there's actually little advantage to having an
auction automated ala eBay or Mastro.
